Foam Pit vs. Bounce House: Which Is Right for Your Backyard Party?

Both are popular backyard party ideas, but they're very different experiences. Here's an honest look at how they compare so you can pick what fits your party. (We specialize in foam parties — we don't rent bounce houses.)

    What is a foam pit?

A foam pit is an inflatable structure filled with foam that guests can jump into — like a ball pit, but with foam. It's an optional add-on to any of our foam party packages, with a trained attendant running the foam machine, and delivery, setup and cleanup included.

How it differs from a bounce house

Foam party + foam pit Standard bounce house
Type of play Dancing, sliding and splashing in foam; jumping into a foam-filled pit Jumping and bouncing
Wet or dry Wet — guests wear swimsuits or clothes that can get wet Dry
Space About 20×20 ft of flat space minimum for a basic foam setup Depends on the unit's footprint
Age mix Kids and adults can join in together, including toddlers with supervision Usually limited by size and weight rules per unit
Cleanup Foam dissolves on its own; a garden hose speeds it up. Cleanup is included Unit is deflated and removed

When a foam party with a foam pit makes sense

    • It's a warm day and your guests are happy to get wet.
    • You have a mix of ages and want kids and adults playing together.
    • You want a hands-off party: we deliver, set up, run the machine and clean up.
    • You'd like something different from the usual backyard party.

If your guests would rather stay dry, a bounce house may be the better fit. Have questions? Call us at 229-392-1684.
